What is a Großtagespflege? A look inside Fuchsbau in Unterhaching

A Großtagespflege is a form of childminding in which several qualified childminders work together in shared premises designed for children. Each child remains assigned to a consistent caregiver. It combines personal care with everyday experiences shared in a small group.
What does that look like in practice? At Großtagespflege Fuchsbau in Unterhaching, it means two childminders, a maximum of five children each and a terraced house furnished with young children in mind.
Two childminders, one consistent caregiver for your child
I’m Hélène, and at Fuchsbau I care for my own small group of up to five children. My colleague looks after her own group, also with a maximum of five children. Together, we care for up to ten children at a time.
I am the consistent caregiver for the children in my group and their parents’ direct point of contact. We also share the spaces and many everyday experiences with my colleague and her group. The children can play together, learn from one another and form friendships.
A house for playing, exploring and resting
Our childminding setting at St.-Alto-Straße 9c offers a family atmosphere. The terraced house is arranged around young children’s needs, with space to play, a cosy reading corner and opportunities to move and rest. The garden is part of our daily life too.
Each child can explore and become more independent at their own pace. We accompany them attentively and provide the support they need.
Healthy meals, freshly cooked every day
Sharing meals is part of our everyday routine. We cook fresh, healthy food for the children every day. At the table, we take time to eat, chat and discover different foods together.
